** Grades should round up in Skyward. So a student with a 93.5% should still get an A. If Skyward is not reflecting that properly, contact registrar to update it

Resetting a Password in Buzz

  1. Search the student in Buzz.
  2. On their details page, select “More.” (3 dots at the top right)
  3. Select “Reset Lockout.”
  4. Click on the 3 dots again and select “Change Password.”
  5. Give the student something easy to communicate.
    1. They can change the password again to something more secure once they are back in their account by doing the following:
    2. Click on their name in the top right corner of Buzz
    3. Select “Change Password”
    4. Enter the current password and what they wish to change it to.

 

Proxying as a Student

  1. In Buzz
    1. Copy the student’s User ID (NOT the Username).
      1. User ID is typically a longer number and can be found under the username on the details page in Buzz.
    2. Click on your name in the top right corner.
    3. In the drop down menu select ‘Proxy.’
    4. Paste their User ID in the box and select ‘OK.’
      1. While you are proxying, please remember it is as if you are the student so be careful what you do in their account, you don’t want to mess anything up for them.
    5. When you are finished, make sure to go back to your name and select ‘Unproxy.’
  2. In the Shopping Cart
    1. Select Users
    2. Search for the student ID in the search on the right side of the screen
    3. Hover over their name and several options will appear under their ID number/beside their blank portrait
    4. Select Switch To
    5. This will automatically take you to the ESO website and you will be proxying as the student now
    6. From here, you can see the student Subscriptions, their Account Details, you can add units to their shopping cart, and you can make purchases
      1. Remember, you are acting as the student so be mindful
    7. When making a purchase, be sure you are on the phone with the student to get their proper billing information. We will not accept billing info through an email or LiveChat, it must be over the phone for security purposes
    8. When you are finished, MAKE SURE to scroll all the way down to the bottom and select “Switch back to yourself”

Registering/Buying a New Course

Student View

To Register:

  1. Go to our home page on eastshore.aplineschools.org
  2. If they already have an account, they can login by selecting Buy a Course (login is the same as their Buzz login)
  3. If a student is new to East Shore Online, they will select the Register Now button on the home page
    1. Agree to Terms and Conditions
    2. Select “New to ESO” which is above the login box on the right, slightly grayed out
    3. Fill in account information.
  4. Select Buy a Course and add the first desired unit to the cart
    1. Students may have more than one unit open at a time but they must purchase them one at a time
  5. Go to checkout and confirm information. 
  6. Student will be prompted to pay at this point. 
    1. $100 yearly registration fee ($200 if attending out-of-district school) and $5 unit fee.

If Using the School Card

  • Steps for purchasing are all the same as usual, but here’s a couple things to keep in mind:
    • Be sure to use the name of the school and the school’s information when filling out the billing portion.
    • The school employee who is ordering the unit should use their email address to receive a receipt.
    • If they do not receive a receipt within 15 minutes, then please have them send a chat to the Help Desk so it can be resent.

Enrolling a New Student

  1. Sign yourself out of eastshore.alpineschools.org/wp-admin
  2. On main web page, select “Register Now.”
  3. Agree to terms and conditions
  4. Select New to ESO
  5. Enter in the student’s information from the Google Form as if you are them.
    1. Make sure to double check Skyward to ensure you have the correct student ID number. DO NOT copy and paste the ID from the form, copy and paste it directly from Skyward
  6. Add requested unit(s) to cart.
  7. Enter coupon codes as applicable and proceed through checkout.
    1. Please be sure to add a note before completing checkout for why this purchase is being made and include your initials (EX: Fee Waiver – MC)
  8. Search the student in Buzz
  9. Edit Description for applicable details.
    1. Use the Account Description Table for reference
  10. Add their Grad Year
  11. Enter End Date
  12. Be sure to hit save!
  13. Send canned ‘Welcome’ email to student (and cc proctor) with login information.
  14. Update Free Packet List as necessary.
  15. Initial and highlight Google Form to state enrollment is complete.

    2. Remember if you use a code to include a note for why (EX: Fee Waiver – MC)

Changing a Student’s Username

  1. Search in WooCommerce for any orders made for the student.
  2. Write down who paid, for what, and the order #’s.
  3. Search the student under “Users” in the shopping cart.
  4. Delete the student’s account ONLY in the shopping cart.
  5. Go to esotools.net
    1. Make sure you have access to the site.
      1. If you do not, contact McKay to get you set up.
  6. Select “Grades”.
  7. Search the student’s name and select them.
  8. Click the pencil icon next to their username and enter the correct Student ID number.
  9. Select the little green checkmark and check in Buzz that it changed.
  10. Reset the student’s password.
  11. Sign the student in to the shopping cart as if you are them.
  12. Using coupon codes, purchase any active units the student has and their registration fee.
  13. In the notes on the order, make sure you state the information you wrote down earlier: who paid, the original order #’s, and that they were paid for under the wrong username.
  14. Once ordered, sign out as the student and go to “subscriptions” in WooCommerce.
  15. Change any end dates to match the student’s original ones.
  16. Ordering their classes again may have changed the end dates in Buzz so be sure to change them back to their originals.
  17. Send email to the student notifying them of their username and password changes.
