Failing an Exam

Failing an Exam

You are here:

Students have 3 attempts to pass a unit final. They are allowed to make attempts for up to one year since their first attempt. If they fail their third attempt, they have two options:

  • Retake the entire unit
  • Contact the director for permission for a 4th attempt
    • Try to recommend this whenever possible, we never know what circumstances could be preventing a student from passing. Having them advocate for themselves with the director may be beneficial for them.

Students are not able to look at their failed test submission. Instead, encourage the student to contact the teacher and work with them to figure out what went wrong and what they can improve. Please also encourage them to do this before their 3rd test attempt to try and reduce the need for 4th attempts.
